Capsicum Chutney




Usually we use coconut for making chutney, which is high in calories as well as cholesterol.  This is absolutely cholesterol free and will have a different flavor.

Ingredients
1 Capsicum(Medium Sized)
1 Tomato
1 green chilly
2 peeled garlic cloves
1 piece of ginger
50gm fried gram
1 pinch of turmeric powder
1 pinch of asafoetida powder
1 tsp cooking oil
5-8 Curry leaves
¼ cup water or required amount to grind the chutney

Method

Wash and chop Capsicum and Tomato.

Heat oil in a pan then add the green chilli and garlic, then add capsicum and tomato.

 Once the vegetables are half cooked add turmeric powder, salt, asafoetida, curry leaves and mix well. Cover and cook for sometime.

  Leave it to cool for some time, add the roasted gram, and the cooked vegetables to the blender.

 Grind it to a fine paste.

Capsicum: Good Source of anti-oxidant
Roasted gram: A source of protein.
